THIS IS A RECORD THAT WOULD STAND UP AGAINST ANYONE AT THE GRAMMY'S, AND WOULD WIN HANDS DOWN
(From On The Record... With Scott Sexton At CountryMusic Report)
Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle, Connie Smith, Jean Shepard and countless other women have paved the way in order to make it possible for women in Country Music to have the chance to record the music that they choose fit. There is a name out there that many people have never heard of, and that is the most unfortunate thing. Gaylynn Robinson is a class act, who hails from the great state of Texas. Her culture shines through every song she sings, and opens up a whole new world of thoughts and ideas for her listeners to grasp. Upon listening to this record, it is easy to close your eyes and go to the places that she sings about. If there was ever an album made that told a full story of someone's life, this would be it. It is a mental motion picture that should be played on every Country radio station across the globe. This is a record that would stand up against anyone at the Grammy's, and would win hands down.
The first song is a catchy little tune called "Barn Rock." I am sure if you go to Texas, you will hear this playing at all of the Honky Tonks. It is Country and there is no denying it. If you are looking for a party tune, look no further. "Concho To The Colorado" is a personal favorite. It starts off with an amazing acoustic guitar and once Gaylynn starts singing, it is clear that this song should be a hit. It is a great love story and if you are familiar with soundtracks, this would be a perfect tune to go on any western film. There is no denying that this lady can sing, and painting a vocal picture is a natural talent.
If you are a fan of Western Swing, you get a nice flavor of it with "You Left Your Memories." Now, it is not hardcore Western Swing, there is just a nice blend of it and classic Country Music that will make you want to get up and do a two step. This is a cute tune about someone who has went through a breakup, but after dealing with all of the heartaches, she brushed herself off, gets up and throws his memories out the door. "Passing Thought" is perfect track that displays the questions that many people think when their relationship is coming to an end, but sometimes don't ask. The back ground music is classic. Every aspect of this record is great, and it shines through on every tune, especially "Poor Girl."
This is a mix of County and Blues, and once again, tells a great story. In a way, it reminds me of "Ode To
Billy Jo." Gaylynn really displays her range on this tune, as well as a different in musical styles.
"Repeat Offender" is a great song, but nothing compared to "Call Back My Heart Texas Moon." This is one of the greatest Western Swing songs ever. It has a Bob Wills flare, but Gaylynn has her own sound that can't be taken away. "Love & Heartache" was a perfect title for this album. Each song displays a wide range of subjects, but all relating to these topics. She wrote all ten tracks and the only thing wrong with this whole project is that there are not ten more songs to listen to. Check out her website at GaylynnRobinson.com. With Christmas right around the corner, this would be a perfect stocking stuffer for all of your family who loves true Country Music.

LOVE & HEARTACHE ARRIVED TODAY AND CAPTURED MY EARS & SOUL... I’VE ADDED 5 OF THESE TUNES TO OUR PLAYLIST
(From "Kuzin" Keith, Music Director - KRRM 94.7 FM, Grants Pass, Oregon)
Some artists are great vocalists who wrap themselves around a lyric and a melody, others are profound writers who coin phrases that glue themselves to your mind. Gaylynn Robinson is all of the above and more. Her new C.D. Love & Heartache arrived today and captured my ears & soul. Produced by the (nearly) legendary Bobby Flores, this disc of her ten well-crafted tunes takes us on an imaginative musical journey through the lands of swing, western, country, rockabilly, and folk. I've added five of these tunes to our play list today and be adding others in the days to come. I'm hungry for more, and look forward to her next release...SOON!

I feel he has surpassed himself - the arrangements are just perfect!! I´ll kill myself and eat my dog if you don´t dig this CD!!! (Cool it *Raisa, don´t start howlin´ at the moon - I am quite positive folks will luv this record!!!) *Raisa Vajsa Minnelli is Lillies faithful companion and music critic and just happens to be an Iceland sheepdog (but don't tell her that).

Gaylynn has perfected the cornerstone of great country music
(From Cheryl Harvey Hill, CountryStarsOnline Senior Staff Journalist)
Life got you down? Kids driving you crazy? Overwhelmed by the hectic pace required to simply survive these days? Know all about love and had just too dang many heartaches? Looking for that miracle cure for whatever ails you? Well, look no further than the new album from Gaylynn Robinson; Love & Heartache.
Robinson wrote all ten tracks and, as with her previous album, she demonstrates that her incredible talent isn’t limited to singing. She is an innovative songwriter who has a knack for writing simple, yet profoundly impacting, lyrics that are so in sync with the music that you can’t help but feel them. She has also perfected the cornerstone of great country music; she excels at the “they are singing my life songs.”
Once again she delivers a nice balance of boot scootin’ toe tappers and easy glidin’ two steppin’ music. It is also clear that Robinson surrounds herself with only top-notch musicians so there are plenty of great instrumental riffs on this album that make it difficult to not get up and dance around the room. Just try to sit still on “Whoa, Whoa.” Go ahead, I dare you. You can’t. I guarantee it. This bluesy number is so amazing. Robinson delivers the lyrics with so much spunk and triple kudos to all the musicians on this album. Awesome. Simply awesome. Extra kudos to Bobby Flores, who not only did a fantastic job on the production, he definitely took it to another level with his guitar, fiddle, and mandolin playing.
Trying to select a favorite tune proved futile since I enjoyed them all but “Call Back My Heart Texas Moon” effortlessly transported me to a virtual honky tonk where Bob Wills fans would feel right at home and I admit it, I couldn’t stop hitting replay on “Whoa, Whoa.” On the other hand, “Keeper of the Flame” has this really great Tex-Mex melody and I loved the words. But then, “Repeat Offender” is such a great story song and there is also “Poor Girl” which is a kindred spirit to “Fancy,” one of the songs that secured Reba a spot on the Opry Stage; a place where Ms. Robinson would be right at home, by the way. Bottom line is that I’m confident there is something for everyone on this album.
In her previous album, Songs by a West Texas Songstress, Gaylynn Robinson did her native Texas proud and gave them plenty to brag about. With her newly released Love & Heartache, bragging rights are once again in order. The ten tracks on this album are a delightful musical prescription guaranteed to lift your spirits, sooth your soul, and will prove to be just what the doctor ordered.

ROOTSTIME Belgium (From Bootsy Lester, Freddy Celis)
Gaylynn Robinson is een countryzangeres uit Texas. Na ‘Songs By A West Texas Songstress’ uit 2006 is ‘Love & Heartache’ haar 2de album.

COUNTRY JUKEBOX Munich, Germany (From Max W. Achatz)
